Operator’s statement on personal data protection – websites and cookies

If you visit our websites www.softec.sk and echo.softec.sk (client zone) which write cookies, a small cookie file will be created on your computer.

A cookie file is a short text file that a website stores in the browser of your computer or mobile device (including a tablet) when you browse it. If you visit the same page next time, it will help you connect faster. In addition, the site will “recognize” you and offer you the information you prefer, ensure that the already displayed advertisements are not repeated, or will allow you to enter or offer to supplement the data filled in during previous visits to the website; and following this information, it will display the relevant content and offers of the estimated activities and services that as we assume you could use.

Cookie files can be used to analyse traffic to our websites. These are analytics tools that help website and application owners understand how their visitors use these resources. Cookie files can be used for statistics on the website use without personal identification of individual visitors. However, currently we do not use such cookies on our websites.

If you set blocking the entry of cookies into your browser, it is possible that some parts of our websites will not work without certain problems or slowdowns.

These cookie files enable the use of basic functions and are necessary for the operation of our websites. These cookies are used to recognize visitors to our websites, to determine their numbers and to identify the way in which visitors use our websites and which of their sections they visit. They allow us to improve our sites and your impressions and experiences from them. We need your consent to use these cookies, and therefore, unless you give us your consent, we will not use these cookies.

How to check cookies settings?

You can check or delete cookie files at your discretion. For details, see the page www.allaboutcookies.org.

You can delete all cookie files stored on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being stored. If you do not trust cookies, you can regularly delete them from your drive. In some cases, cookie information may be stored incorrectly and thus there may be a problem with the use of some functionalities or links on our websites.

Legal basis of processing

If we can identify the person of the website visitor during the recording, it will be considered as processing of personal data. For such processing we must have a legal basis.

In the case of basic cookies, it will be the legal basis of the legitimate interests of the operator according to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR that is interested in ensuring the operation of the operator’s websites. At the same time, such an approach is also enabled by § 109 (8) of Act no. 452/2021 on electronic communications, pursuant to which: „Anyone who stores or accesses information, stored in the user’s terminal device, is entitled to do so only if the user concerned has given demonstrable consent. At the same time, it does not prevent the technical storage or access to data the sole purpose of which is to transmission or facilitation of the transmission of a message over a network or where this is strictly necessary for an information society service provider to provide an information society service explicitly requested by the user.“

In the case of other cookies, the legal basis is the consent to the processing of personal data pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR obtained from you as the person concerned.

How long will we keep browsing data?

Due to the fact that we use only basic cookies on our websites, namely cookies enabling the distinction between a human and a robot (bot) who uses or is interested in using the functionality of our websites or browsing our websites, we store this data for one day only, as we have no reason to keep them longer (the purpose of using cookies is fulfilled before the start of the visitor’s activity on our websites).

Withdrawal of consent

If we process your data based on your consent, this consent can be revoked at any time, namely:

  • by withdrawing your consent on the permanently visible bar located on our websites at the bottom, where you can change your preferences at any time, withdraw your consent to the use of cookies to which you originally gave your consent, etc.;
  • by sending a message to our email address marketing@softec.sk, or
  • in person at the registered office of the operator or in writing to the address of the registered office of the operator,

depending on which of the above methods of withdrawing the consent is the most convenient or easiest for you.
